Admissions

Admission to Chalton Grammar School is based on academic ability.

Year 7 Entry

  • Students must sit the 11+ Entrance Examination.
  • The test normally includes:
    • English
    • Mathematics
    • Verbal Reasoning
    • Non-Verbal Reasoning

Sixth Form Entry

  • Students must achieve strong GCSE results (usually Grade 6 or above in chosen subjects).

Admission Priority

Places may be prioritised for:

  • Students with the highest entrance exam scores
  • Siblings of current students
  • Students living within the catchment area

Chalton Grammar School is a state-funded grammar school, therefore:

  • Sixth Form (Year 12–13): Free

Additional Costs

  • School uniform: £200 – £400 per year
  • Educational trips: £50 – £300 per year
  • Books and learning materials: £50 – £150 per year
